Justin&Courtney's Barra de Navidad Mexico Wedding film is up on the blog today!
Wow! No lie, this is one of the most stunning wedding venues we've ever seen (and we've shot at some pretty amazing places)! The ceremony space is perfect for an intimate destination wedding like Justin&Courtney had. Out on a peninsula of land overlooking the Pacific Ocean in the Southern part of Mexico, white chairs, draped linens and gorgeous flowers set the scene for this beautiful ceremony. What we love about destination weddings is the client and guest experience. With a non-destination wedding, you have one day to celebrate with your friends and family. With a destination, most of the time our couples get days, even a week to hang out, relax by the pool and spend time with all their guests. The resort that Justin&Courtney were married at, Grand Isla Navidad, is such a perfect place for a destination wedding. It's so spread out and there's so much space to go around, it truly feels like you're the only one there at times!
Justin&Courtney spent time hanging by the poolside bar, and Justin would go surfing almost every morning with his friends. Take a short water taxi across the bay and you can visit the small fishing village where you can get the most authentic Mexican dishes and treats! Guests had a blast heading over there for food and drinks after hours. Chelsey and I ended up staying for a week in this scenic spot and are SO glad we did! It was amazing to be able to relax, explore the area and take time to scout out locations for the wedding day.
Originally from Chicago, where we did Justin&Courtney's engagement photography, these two recently made the move out closer to us, down in Sacramento, CA. Justin had always known he wanted to get married at this epic destination, ever since he was visiting the area and caught a glimpse of another ongoing wedding there. These two love to adventure and travel and we love that about them! We're excited to see what their future holds and know that their wedding is just a small glimpse into the fun that these two are going to have doing life together as husband and wife!
